Sometimes-a-poem-about-adhd

Sometimes

Sometimes I walk into things.

Sometimes I don’t finish things that I start.

Sometimes I forget my laundry in the machine.

Sometimes I trip over my own feet.

Sometimes I forget my appointments (especially on weekends).

Sometimes I walk out of the kitchen with food on the stove completely forgetting it’s there.

Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by a crowded room.

Sometimes I clench my jaw so hard it hurts.

Sometimes I leave things all over the house.

Sometimes it’s hard to get myself to shower.

Sometimes I walk into rooms forgetting why I entered it in the first place.

Sometimes I get overwhelmed.

Sometimes I lose track of time.

I am a loyal friend.

I am a good listener.

I am a good cook.

I am really caring.

I am super passionate.

I am an empath.

I am a bookworm.

I am a granddaughter.

I am a sister.

I am a daughter.

I am a nature lover.

I am a total goof.

I am a wine connoisseur.

I am an athlete.

I am creative.

I am a friends fanatic (the TV show).

I am honest.

I also happen to have ADHD.

“I choose to laugh about my “sometimes” list and focus on who I am as a person.”

Sometimes my Negative Nancy wins and I let the things on my “sometimes” win. BUT once I pause and shift my focus to the many positives that I AM, I can then be fair to myself and continue my day on a more positive note.”

What do your “sometimes” and “I am” lists look like? I challenge you to create your own!  Want some accountability? Send them to me or write them in the comments below!
