Here is a description of latest Autistic Selves video:

We are diagnosed with both Autism and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID, previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder).

We feel that our DID manifests differently because of our underlying autism.  We also feel that one of the reasons we developed alters was to cope with growing up with undiagnosed Autism.

DID is typically caused by trauma.  For us, we feel growing up without awareness or support for our autism was traumatic – we call this autistic trauma because it is different to traditional trauma.

Our autism intercepts with our Dissociative Identity Disorder and so we call it Autistic DID.

We hope you will find our video helpful and will share it with others. We’d also love you to subscribe to our channel as we’re trying to grow!

Many Thanks

Autistic Selves.
